Flower Pot Card

Good Afternoon! I've seen these cute flower pot cards all over and wanted to make one for the wife of my daughter's teacher who is in the hospital. I found a tutorial on SplitCoast Stampers, but changed some of the dimensions and added a little tab so it can stand up:) I used all Close to My Heart products unless noted:) I hope this inspires you to make something beautiful today.

Here's how I made mine.

First, I cut a piece of Saddle CS to 10" by 4.5". Then I scored it at 1" and 5.5". I folded it towards the front at 1" and towards the back at 5.5". On the front tab I used a pair of decorative scissors. I inked all the edges with Chocolate ink to give it a little dimension.

For the flowers, I cut 3 different sizes for each flower using the Artiste cartridge pg 54. In the Cricut Craft Room, I cut one at 3" by 3", one at 2 1/2" by 2 1/4" and one at 2" by 1 1/2". I inked the edges of each flower and then rolled them up on a pencil.  I glued each layer of the flower and then used Liquid glass to attach the button (generic buttons) in the center. For the leaves and stems, I also cut them on the Artiste cartridge pg. 54.

On the inside of the card, I ran a small strip of adhesive on each side of the card, making sure to leave the top open. On a small White Daisy CS cut at 2 1/2 " by 5", I glued the Cotton Candy flower and one stem at the top and then stamped my sentiment in the middle. I left room so my family could sign the card.

I glued the Smokey Plum and Buttercup flowers and stem on the card. Then I stamped the front sentiment on White Daisy cut at 1" by 2 1/2" and snipped and inked the edges with Chocolate.

For the easel type stand, I cut a piece of Saddle CS at 5" by 1 1/2", scored it at 3/4", 1 1/2" and 2 1/2". Here's a picture of how the bottom should fold.
Then I scored at 4 1/2" and folded it. Here's how it looked when I attached it to the back of the card. A little hint....attach the bottom of the stand first and then the top. That way it will lay flat in the envelope:)
Here's the finished card with the sentiment tab taken out.
Here is a list of what I used and links if you'd like to purchase any of the Close to My Heart items I used.
The buttons and decorative scissors are things that I've had forever and I have no idea what brand they are. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
